Privacy Policy

Last updated:

For families: You can play, read, and print without creating an account. Game progress is saved in your browser. Visiting this site also sends requests to our web server; browser saves and server records are different.

Who runs this site

Turtle Life Span is an independent educational project for children and families. Contact information and its availability are shown on our Contact page. The operator’s full identity, server-log retention period, and complete privacy review still need to be confirmed. This notice does not claim certification under any privacy law.

What stays in your browser

Progress, eggs, preferences, generated turtle names, and game records use local browser storage. They are not an account and do not automatically sync between devices. Clearing this site’s browser data removes local saves. If you export a backup or share a challenge, you choose where that file or link goes. A backup may include the progress and preferences you saved.

Worksheet settings stay on the open page. Coloring sheets and worksheets have no online student-answer form; any name written on a printed sheet stays on that paper.

Web-server requests and logs

The hosting server receives technical information when it serves pages and assets, including your network address and request details. Server logs can include requested paths, dates, response codes, browser information, and IP addresses, depending on server configuration. The site’s operations use IIS request logs for aggregate traffic reporting. The exact enabled fields, access controls, and deletion schedule require confirmation by the operator.

Optional features in this build

Analytics script: not configured. This build does not enable the optional Plausible analytics script. The absence of an analytics script does not mean the server keeps no logs.

Shared score service: not configured. This build does not connect to the optional shared leaderboard service.

Technical diagnostics: not configured. This build does not send the optional error or Web Vitals reports.

Advertising and outside links

This version includes no advertising-network scripts or tracking pixels. Links to reference and conservation sites take you to independent services with their own privacy practices. Ask an adult before entering personal information on another site.

Questions and choices

A parent or guardian can ask about information relating to their child and request review or deletion through the Contact pagewhen a private contact channel is available. Do not post a child’s information on a public issue tracker. Browser settings let you remove this site’s local data, but doing so does not delete server records.

For general information about children’s privacy, see the FTC’s COPPA guidance.

Changes

Changes to data handling should be reflected here before new services are activated. The date above identifies this notice’s latest content update.
