Sources and corrections

Turtle Life Span is an independent educational project. Our games introduce ideas about sea turtles; they are simplified models, not predictions of what happens to an individual animal.

Follow the evidence

Use the source links in our guides to explore the evidence. We prioritize agencies such as NOAA Fisheries, conservation assessments, and published research. A source link does not imply that its publisher endorses this site.

What dates mean

An article’s publication date records when it was added. A review date, when shown, records a check of the listed sources. It does not mean an independent scientist reviewed the article. We do not currently claim independent scientific certification.

Estimates and changing information

Lifespans, maturity, survival, and migration distances vary by species and population. Conservation status depends on the assessment, place, and date. Treat a game’s numbers as game rules unless the page explicitly identifies a scientific estimate and its source.

Corrections

Visit Contact to find the available reporting channel. Include the page address, the statement in question, and a reliable source if you have one. Please do not include a child’s name, school, or other personal information.

Who contributes

We will identify reviewers and partners when there is a real, agreed contribution. We do not present fictional scientists, certification badges, or implied organizational endorsements.
